Why Galfer Wave Rotors?
Wave rotors are a patented championship winning
proven design with many benefits over standard equipment and should be
considered if you’re replacing your original rotors. The primary benefit is
that the wave shapes of the exterior diameter and inner profile of the
braking track allow the disc to expand without deforming to ensure it always
remains perfectly flat. This overcomes the problem normal discs face of the
contact area with the pads becoming inconsistent through warp age.
All Galfer Wave rotors are a direct bolt on replacement and do not require
brackets or any extra special parts. They bolt just like the stock rotors would
simple remove and replace. All Galfer rotors are laser cut, made of a high
carbon/stainless steel 420 material, pre-heat treated and double disc grind
finished assuring parallel and perfect flatness. Galfer uses only the latest
technology available when manufacturing replacement rotors. Galfer’s 420
stainless steel compound is unique to the Galfer product line, specifically made
to meet our technical requirements and specifications.
After years of research and development, Galfer has patented the WAVE Rotor
technology under European patent # EP 99500110.4 & US Patent # 638-6340. All
units are T.U.V. tested and approved under certification 350-417-97-FBTN. Makes
all front ends lighter than stock in many cases by almost four pounds. Offers
self cleaning and cooling action as it rotates.

Bottom line:
- More braking power and feedback
- Shorter pad bed-in
- Better cooling
- Awesome looks
VERY IMPORTANT:
GALFER WAVE ROTORS ARE ONLY TO BE USED WITH GALFER BRAKE PADS, ALL OTHER BRAKE
PAD COMPOUNDS VOID WARRANTY. THE REAR DISCS SHOULD BE USED WITH STANDARD REAR
PADS which we offer.
FRONT GALFER WAVE ROTORS
(USE GALFER PADS ) Galfer Pads are designed to work with front wave discs.
EBC-HH are similar sintered pads. Sintered Pads best for front : Last longer /
better braking than standard pads which are too soft for use with wave discs
(front). Sintered pads have a reasonably long wear time with the wave rotors.
REAR GALFER WAVE ROTORS
(USE STANDARD PADS ) Galfer recommend the use of Standard Brake Pads with their
rear wave discs. The reason for this is primarily one of braking performance.
All brake pads come with a smooth 'sheen' to them which is rubbed off through
the friction caused by braking. This sheen will quickly re-establish itself over
time if the brakes are not used much. As the rear brakes are used much less than
the front, the sheen on the harder Sintered Pads does not wear off quickly
enough to allow the desired braking performance to be achieved. The softer
Standard Pads are better suited for the rear brake disc as the sheen is more
readily removed, thus allowing greater friction for better braking performance.
