Bar
Riser Assembly
Item-040
Hi John,
I received the new item 40 bars in the mail about a week ago and fitted them
straight away. There were no dramas, in fact it was a very speedy and
straight-forward installation on my '98 model Daytona (even simpler than
your instructions suggest!).
I'm glad I ordered the bar-end sliders with the kit - they look great
(and I couldn't get the bar-end weights off the old bars anyway!!)
The new bars have turned out to be excellent value for money - I was so
sick of the standard setup riding position, that I was on the verge of
trading the Daytona on a sports tourer. I wasn't too fussy what brand or
model as long as I didn't feel like I'd been in a boxing ring for a few
hours when I got off the bike.
I had only owned the bike a couple of weeks before riding it to Phillip
Island for the MotoGP last October (After 1,100 km and 14 hours riding, I
thought I needed to spend lots of money on a Chiropracter, never mind a new
bike!). I thought I'd made a major mistake with that particular purchase
descision! Trying alternative bars was a last-ditch attempt to get on with
the bike's ergonomics.
It's early days yet, of course, but I think I'll be keeping the Daytona
for a year or two longer now. There's a huge improvement in the ergonomics
and a significant reduction in weight on my wrists that makes the bike much
more manageable and comfortable both in town and on longer runs. Now I can
concentrate on having fun, rather than being pre-occupied with how much
discomfort I'm in!
Thanks for a great product!
